I am having this exact problem at this time in my condo. I have just been diagnosed with asthma and I am a competitive athlete and have never had asthma. this past friday I had to relocate out of my unit to the unit of some friends along with my cat as I have been made so ill.

I would appreciate any input and help that people can send my way!

Thank you!

I pity those that get secondhand smoke from their neighbors in their apartments. And the worse scenario is if they reach the level of third hand smoke. I heard that third hand smoking leaves the smoke residues and smell in the things like furniture and clothes and stuff. It also causes health risks and really dangerous to to children and people with less resistance.

We've seen a very small change in the number of people going out to eat or visiting establishments.

One thing that angers me is smoking is still going on in the Missouri Capital! I know they are part of the State of Missouri and the grounds are not considered Jefferson City, however they need to lead by example.

I stay at Trellis Square in Sunnyvale in CA. My neighbor downstairs smokes in his patio and my apartment smells out of cigarette smoke. I have complained in the leasing office but they state that they only prohibit in common areas and the tenant is free to smoke in his patio.

Does the local laws help me in this situation, forbidding / preventing my neighbor to smoke in his patio ?

Thanks
Leena

Message to Jack Evans:

I just read about your second-annual cigar bill, and Irish upper crust notwithstanding, a ban on cigar-smoking in enclosed public-access spaces at all times is a superior idea.

Are you going to refund the money to other parties in the hotel who thought they were in a smoke-free zone? Or those who try to use the venue on subsequent days while the stench lingers?

Give a wink back to the "Irish upper crust" acknowledging your favorite son status, and say no more about this lousy, stinky idea.

That happens to me every time I rent a car; they say it's nonsmoking but when I hop in it reeks of residue.

I always ask for another car, and they usually just tell me to pick any car on the lot! This was National. They've been great.
